Today, I’m going to give my personal Adventurous Photography Contest tips on how to win and get the most votes! Read on to learn the secrets and get the inside track on your competitors. Tip One: It’s NEVER too late to join. Last year our top two competitors joined at the beginning of the second week and they got over 10,000 votes… each. Just because someone is a few hundred votes ahead of you doesn’t mean you cannot win.
Tip Two: Use your social networks. This contest is about mobilizing your social network to help you win. The more votes you get each hour, the higher the probability you’ll win. Therefore, take some time and write some personal messages that you can send out to batches of friends. Keep it short and simple. You can use Twitter, Facebook, G+, and anything else you can think-up.
Tip Three: Ask your friends who you message using social media if you can send them an hourly reminder. Let them opt out if they don’t want to but often times people just forget to vote because their lives are busy. Setup an auto text, once an hour facebook message, etc. This can really boost your chances of keeping the highest hourly voter rate!
Tip Four: If you have a strong workplace, use your cooworkers. Make it into a workplace bonding activity. This can be a GREAT way to bring together a community. Last years winners, Jennie and Will, used Jennie’s job as a nurse to leverage a high hourly voting rate and vote around the clock. Obviously not all of us can do that but each of our jobs holds a unique advantage, can you find yours?
