wedding | becky and stanton | chanhassen, mn

this last weekends wedding was…epic.

i don’t do much second shooting anymore now that i’m running lumen photography but on occasion i’ll still help out some twin cities photographers who i’m friends with.  this last weekend i was helping out fellow photographer and buddy ben berndt of ben berndt photography.

anyhoo,

it was a great weekend with a ton of phenomenal photos.  the day started off early with me driving up from st. olaf to the university of mn arboretum in chanhassen.  after meeting up with ben, we decided to walk around and scout out some locations.  there were so many good locations that it was hard to choose just a few for becky and stanton.  when the bride arrived i got right to photographing her and her girlfriends.  i learned very quickly the type of energy that becky and stanton brought.  during the first look, stanton was just awesome, he hid, he joked… it was obvious how happy he made becky.  the day was actually kinda chilly but the b&g didn’t let it affect them as we went from location to location (ps this is last saturday after it had snowed during the night).  my favorite location was under this gigantic… oak?… tree that had absolutely radiant colors.  after the b&g session, we all walked back to warm up for a bit.  we the proceeded to do the bridal party and family portion of the day.  it had only gotten colder but there was a perfect location that jut made for great light, that in turn translated into great photos.  next thing i knew, it was 5:30 and time for the ceremony, i was having so much fun the day had passed in the blink of an eye!  the ceremony went off without a hitch, the best part, in my opinion, was when the groom and all the groomsmen took of their jackets and went and put them on the bridesmaids… cause it was freaking freezing!  there was a vintage caddy waiting for becky and her new husband.  ben and i then proceeded to sprint to our cars to try and beat the huge line that was bound to form and get to the reception location asap.  the reception was at a local golf course, after some mingling and speeches, dinner was servered and was there some delicious porketa!  mmmmmmmm   :- D the first dance proceeded and it was… percfect.  the reason i love doing weddings is the great feeling i get from how happy people are on the day and becky and stanton were the perfect example.

top notch day if i do say so myself, take a look at the photos cause they’re quite awesome too… hehe

becky, i hope that you and stanton’s life together is off to a wonderful start,

evan
