Wedding | Bryan and Megan | Northfield, Minnesota

Bryan and Megan are the type of people wedding photographers dream about having as clients!  There are many reasons for this, but it mostly boils down to the fact that they care about the photos of their wedding a lot,  that they’re adventurous, and game for any photo.  That gets me excited more than anything else in the world.  I had the privilege of living with Bryan in college and getting to know him very well – he’s even come along and shot weddings with me as a second shooter on Occasion.  He’s an earnest, honest, and incredibly down-to-earth guy (can you believe he had shoulder length hair at one point?!).  Through Bryan, I got to meet Megan and they are the perfect counterpoints to each others personalities and dispositions.  Megan is incredibly smart, a talented dancer, and equally as nice as her, now, husband.

The day started off cloudy but those clouds were quickly burned off and the day turned swelteringly hot.  Luckily, the prep rooms were either air conditioned or cooled by some gigantic fans.  So, we did our prep pics with Megan getting into her gorgeous dress – I’d describe it as a mix of vintage and slinky modernity.  She, obviously, pulled it off amazingly.  Bryan and his groomsmen were getting ready underneath the chapel and having some trouble with the suspenders.  With a lil’ teamwork though, the managed to sort it all out.  The ceremony itself was in Boe Chapel at St. Olaf – a unique and one of a kind ceremony location that held a lot of special meaning for both Bryan and Megan.  From there, we did the family and bridal party on the grounds (otherwise known by Ole’s as the Quad) outside the chapel.  Then the newlyweds and myself took off to the natural lands that span Olaf”s periphery!  The lighting, while harsh, made for some awesome dramatic portraits that really captured the awesomeness of the bride and groom.

Unfortunately, due to our alma mater is very strict with having alcohol on campus; so, we went over to Carelton for the reception!  What a fun night, hopefully everyone is enjoying the pictures. Check out their engagement session and if you’re digging the pics leave a comment here or on the facebook page!
